Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- A 23-year-old medical student in Italy was mistakenly given a new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine produced by Pfizer-BioNTech with 6 doses.
The young doctor, who was under observation following the incident at Noa Hospital in the Tuscan region, was reported to be in good health.
The health worker who administered the vaccines filled the entire bottle of the vaccine containing a total of 6 doses in the syringe to be applied to the doctor and noticed his mistake shortly after applying the vaccine.
Hospital spokeswoman Daniella Gianelli said an internal investigation into the incident had been launched.
Doctors said they will continue to monitor the immunity of the woman who was vaccinated.
