News Center-TDO-The inauguration of renovated Chile Square, built in 1971 in Aşağı Ayrancı neighbourhood to consolidate the friendship between two countries and where the monument of Chile's founding President Bernardo O'Higgins is located, was hosted by Ambassador Rodrigo E. Arcos Castro and Alper Taşdelen, Mayor of Çankaya.
Ambassadors of Latin American countries and many guests attended the opening.
Ambassador Rodrigo E. Arcos Castro, who made the opening speech, said, "This square is an indication of the support and cooperation offered to us by the Çankaya Municipality, which hosts embassies and international organizations in Turkey".
Mayor of Çankaya Alper Taşdelen said that Ambassador Castro came to visit a month ago and wanted to renovate the monument. He offered to renew not only the monument but also everything missing in the square.
