AGREEMENT REACHED BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY AND IRAN

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told The Press on his return to Iran that the talks had concluded positively.

Grossi announced that a temporary compromise was reached during a meeting with Iranian officials, and the agency will continue its basic verification and monitoring activities in Iran for another 3 months.

Grossi added that the International Atomic Energy Agency's activities will be restricted from February 23 in accordance with the nuclear law approved in Iran, but a temporary technical compromise has been reached during the talks, and in this context, the IAEA's basic verification and monitoring activities will continue indefinitely for another 3 months.

Grossi also noted that the agency's desire is for stability to prevail, and that this interim agreement with Iranian officials will allow other political actors for permanent stability.
