Adel Tayari -TDO- (TUNISIA) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday (June 25th) agreed to the delineation of the maritime border between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, known as "Tiran and Sanafir," according to a statement by the Egyptian government.
On April 8, 2016, Egypt and Saudi Arabia signed the agreement to transfer sovereignty over the islands of Tiran and Sanafir in the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia. And on June 14, the Egyptian parliament approved the agreement, despite growing popular disapproval. And under the Egyptian law, the agreement enters into force following ratification by the Egyptian president and published in the official gazette of the country. and what is worth to mention, two Egyptian courts rejected the agreement in June 2016 and last January.
