An online roundtable was held by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey on December 4, 2020 with the participation of Turkish scientists, politicians and literati on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and the declaration of 2020 as the Year of 'Turkmenistan - country of neutrality'.

The meeting was attended by Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Ishankuli Amanliyev and Consul General in İstanbul Muratgeldi Seyitmammedov, Prof. Abdullah Gündoğdu from Ankara University, Assoc. Prof. Berdi Sarıyev, Assoc. Prof. Muhammet Savaş Kafkasyalı from Kırıkkale University, Dr. Nurcan Güder from İstanbul University, Prof. Allaguly Gurbanlyyev from Konya Technical UNiversity, Secretary General of the chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Organization for Economic Cooperation Adem Kula, President Of Turkey-Turkmenistan Friendship Association Hüseyin Yücel, “Sahipkıran” Center for Strategic Studies-SASAM Vice President Cesurhan Taş, TÜRKSOY Representatives,  reporters of press organizations from “Atavatan Türkmenistan”, “TRT” and “Anadolu Agency” and Ambassadors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the events being held in Turkmenistan and abroad on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the year 2020 ‘Turkmenistan – country of neutrality’, as well as the achievements of Turkmenistan in various areas during the years of Independence, were detailed.

At the meeting, the historical importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality policy, the country's role in strengthening international and regional stability, the United Nations and Turkmenistan to ensure global peace and sustainable development in cooperation with relevant organizations were the main topics.

Participants mentioned the following issues in their speeches: The importance of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality in terms of its international relations, the role of neutrality in the development of today's world and in contradictory international studies, studies made for the sake of neutrality, the traces left by the expression of impartiality on Turkmen fountains, especially in the works of Turkmen classical poets, the importance of Turkmen neutrality in ensuring peace, security and sustainable development at national, regional and international levels today. In addition, the participants stated that the Permanent Neutrality policy allows Turkmenistan to achieve great success and reach high levels in the political, socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.
