News Center -TDO- An event was held in honour of Indonesia’s 76th Anniversary of Independence, hosted by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.
Many guests attended the event held at the embassy residence.
The event started with raising the red and white Indonesian flag, accompanied by the Indonesian Raya- “Great Indonesia” anthem.
Ambassador Lalu Muhammed Iqbal, who led the flag ceremony, made a speech at the ceremony.
The event ended with the food service to the guests.
Indonesia remained under Dutch rule for over 300 years. In 1942, the Dutch surrendered to the Japanese. Until 1945, the country was under Japanese control. After Japan surrendered, Indonesia declared its independence on August 17, 1945.
