News Center -TDO-A reception was held at Russian Embassy in Turkey in consequence of the celebration of 74th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s defeat of Nazi Germany.
Victory Day celebrations in Ankara was held at Russian Embassy with the celebration of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Embassies in Turkey.
Russian Ambassador to Turkey Aleksey Yerhov, Belarusian Ambassador Andrey Savinykh, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Abzal Saparbekuli, Kirghizstan’s Ambassador Kurbanychbek Omuraliev, Mongolian Ambassador Bold Ravdan, Tajikistani Ambassador Mahmadali Rajabiyon, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador İsankuli Amanliyev and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Aliser Azamhocayev hosted the reception.
Representatives of diplomatic missions and many guests attended to the reception. At the entrance St. George collar ribbon consisting of orange and black colours were given to the guests.
At the opening of the reception, Ambassador Yerhov presented medals and trophies to the embassy teams of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Russia, which received degrees in sports events as part of Victory Day celebrations.
Russia's Ambassador to Turkey Aleksey Yerhov said in a statement to the press said that due to the month of Ramadan, this year Victory Day celebrated on 1stof May instead of 9th of May.
Ambassador Yerhov also said, “On Victory Day, commemorates the heroism of our ancestors in the most bloody battle in the history of the world. In this war, our country, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics lost 28 million citizens, they will always live among us, we remember them and we try to teach this to our children.”
In the context of the celebrations, the chorus of Lukomorye Child Development Center and Russian Language Speaking Young People's Association in Ankara sang victory-themed songs. At the entrance of the Russian Embassy building, photographs of the ancestors of the embassy workers who were killed in the Second World War were exhibited.
