Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- A Catholic church in Barcelona has opened its doors to Muslims who cannot organize mass Ramadan dinner due to restrictions imposed in Spain as part of measures against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Church of Santa Anna began giving Ramadan dinners in its courtyard to about 60 Muslims, mostly homeless, to fast every evening during Ramadan.

The priest Peio Sanchez, the rector of the Church of Santa Anna, responded positively to the research of the Catalan Association of Moroccan Women, which contacted churches across the country.

"People of different cultures, religions, and languages can sit at the same table and share their food much easier than some politicians," Sanchez said in a statement.
