Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Richard Moore, president of MI6, Britain's Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), said he believed Moscow's power is in decline.
"Russia is an economic and demographically weakening power. It's an extremely challenging place. Clearly, there is a disagreement with Putin, as we have seen with the treatment of Alexei Navalny and thousands of protesters on the streets of many cities," he said.
"If you look at what's going on in Ukraine when you see this reckless pattern of behavior, it worries us," Moore said in a statement.
Moore also highlighted a report last week that showed Russia's military intelligence agency, the GRU, blew up a Czech arms factory.
