News Center -TDO- North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met with Oliver Varhelyi, the European Commission's Commissioner for Neighborhood Relations and Enlargement. Zaev said national identity should not prevent negotiations.
Receiving the North Macedonian delegation, Varhelyi said their aim was to reach a consensus between EU members on the negotiation framework for Northern Macedonia and Albania during Portugal's term presidency.
Pointing out that the number one agenda item of the EU debates on the Western Balkans is the Bulgarian veto before Macedonia, Varhelyi emphasized that they are making all attempts to accelerate the process.
Noting that they are ready to find solutions to the existing problems with Bulgaria, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said, "However, both Bulgaria and the EU members should know that any solution that will add our national identity to the negotiation framework will be rejected by Macedonia."
