WORLD LEADERS GATHERED TO COMMEMORATE CENTENARY OF WORLD WAR I IN PARIS

Mustafa AY – TDO – 12.11.2018 On Sunday, leaders from all around of world gathered over French President Emanuel Macron’s invitation to mark Armistice agreement and commemorate losses of bloody WWI irrespective of race and nationality at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Paris. World leaders unified to underscore importance of having long-lasting peace with this program.

The presence of children in the main commemoration program at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier brought the idea that Macron tried to give a message to all leaders. That is “for these children and posterities, shall peace last forever.”

In between July 1914 and November 1918, 45 million soldier from Ottoman, Austria-Hungary, Italy, Britain and its colonies, Russia, Germany, France and other nations enlisted to fight in WWI. As a result of devastating war, estimated 10 million soldiers lost their lives while over 20 million wounded soldier left the war behind.
