Serhat TUNAR -TDO- US army performed the tests of intercontinental ballistic missile Minuteman III. The trial was broadcast live by the Pentagon. The Minuteman III Ballistic Missile was launched from the Vandenberg base in California.
The missile, which did not have a warhead, was expected to hit the target in the Kwajalein Atoll region of the Pacific Ocean. There is no explanation as to whether the trial has been successful or not.
Minuteman, a three-stage intercontinental ballistic missile, was originally developed for the purpose of nuclear deterrence during the cold war.
Minuteman III is known as the only intercontinental ballistic missile in the hands of the United States. According to the latest information, the US army is thought to have about 450 missiles.
