Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The United States administration has not granted a visa to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is seeking to attend a United Nations meeting in New York.
Javad Zarif stated that attending this meeting was an opportunity to explain the actions of the United States.
Iran's Foreign Minister said he had applied for a visa to the United States to speak at a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York following the killing of Iranian commander Qassam Soleimani in Iraq.
Speaking on an American television channel, Javad Zarif added that United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had informed him that his request could not be met in time.
It is not yet clear whether the Iranian Foreign Minister's visa request has been officially rejected. If officially rejected, it could trigger some legal technicalities and affect future visa applications.
