Serhat TUNAR -TDO- 43 civilians were killed in an attack on two villages in the northern Burkina Faso city of Yatenga.
In Yatenga, bordering Mali, The Villages of Dinguila and Barga, where Fulanis Live, were attacked by unidentified gunmen, authorities said.
The attack killed 43 villagers and wounded 6 others. Security forces have launched operations in the area to capture the attackers. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
While the government condemned the attack, it dispatched two ministers to the region to conduct investigations.
A state of emergency is in place in 7 of the 13 regions that make up Burkina Faso. More than 700 people have died in attacks in the last 4 years in the country, 270 thousand people have been from their homes.
