News Center -TDO- Hosted by Japan's Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima, the Turkish Judo Federation was honored with the “Ambassador of Japan Award” by the Government of Japan for its contribution to the spread of judo in Turkey and the development of mutual interaction between Japan and Turkey in the field of sports.
Ambassador Akio Miyajima, Deputy General Director of Sports Services Ömer Altınsoy, head of the Department of Sports Federations and former President of the Judo Federation Fatih Uysal, President of the Federation Sezer Huysuz and President of the Federation Cemalettin Kömürcü and invited guests attended the award ceremony held at the embassy residence.
Since 1962, when the Turkish Judo Federation was founded, it has trained many strong athletes and conveyed not only technical skills to children, but also the Japanese spirit through judo. By establishing a judo club in Kilis, he teaches judo not only to Turks but also to Syrian children. In addition, the Federation, together with the Embassy of Japan, organizes events such as the Ambassador of Japan Judo Tournament, effectively strives to spread judo in Turkey and develop mutual interaction between Japan and Turkey in the field of sports.
