İrem UZUN -TDO- Donald Trump has announced that he fired his National Security Advisor John Bolton. In his Twitter account, he said that he “disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions”. The two men offered differing announcements about whether Trump had fired Bolton or whether Bolton left voluntarily. On Twitter, Trump said “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service.” As a response, Bolton explained the situation as“I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow’”. Additionally, in a text that he gave to The Washington Post, John Bolton added that “Let’s be clear, I resigned, having offered to do so last night. I will have my say in due course. But I have given you the facts on the resignation. My sole concern is US national security.”
