SPACECRAFT TO CLOSELY OBSERVE THE SUN'S POLES LAUNCHED




Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The Solar Orbiter, the spacecraft of the United States National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) and the European Space Agency, was launched to perform a first, closely displaying the sun's poles.

Launched early Monday morning from the Cape Canaveral Space Base in Florida, United States, the Solar Orbiter will observe the sun's poles and magnetic movements more closely than before.

The Solar Orbiter was successfully launched by a space rocket belonging to the United States with 10 scientific instruments and a 209-kilogram payload to benefit from its mission worth about 1.5 billion euros.

The spacecraft, which has a top speed of 245 thousand kilometers per hour, will orbit the planet Mercury after orbiting Venus and reach 42 million kilometers closer to The Sun.
