SAMSUNG BOSS FACES ARREST




Nuran YILDIRIM –TDO- Jay Y Lee, Samsung boss and heir apparent to the Samsung group, has been arrested for alleged involvement in the South Korean corruption scandal.

Jay Y. Lee is accused of bribing approximately $ 36 million to Choi Soon-sil, a longtime friend of the country’s impeached president, Park Geun-hye.

Lee, 48, became the company's de facto manager after his father, Lee Kun-hee, lost his life as a result of a heart attack in 2014. Among the accusations against Lee are corruption, embezzlement, false testimony and bribery.

On the other hand, the third-generation leader of South Korea’s richest conglomerate Jay Y. Lee has rejected claims about him.

In this context, the outcome of Wednesday's hearing is the outcome of the arrest request for Lee.

The corruption scandal in South Korea is believed to be the biggest political scandal of the century. The scandal continues to grow with the inclusion of Samsung, one of the largest conglomerates in the country.
