Within the scope of the application initiated by the Municipality of Rome with the slogan Roma More recycling, more travel,, citizens who throw plastic water bottles to the machines in the stations will earn 5 cents for each bottle. The credits will be loaded into the mobile phone application and can be used by passengers to purchase tickets.
In Rona, where the one-time public transport ticket price is around 2 Euros, it is necessary to throw 40 plastic bottles into the recycling bin to earn a free ticket.
The recycling machines, which were placed in the stations in the three pilot regions selected for the implementation of the project and will be tested for 12 months, were promoted by the Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi.
