Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Turkey's military action in northern Syria could trigger the re-emergence of ISIS in the region.
Addressing reporters at a press conference after the bilateral summit in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, Putin stressed that the release of ISIS militants held captive by Syrian Kurds is a real threat to all.
The Russian President said he was not sure if Turkey would take control of the situation or if it could do so quickly, a Russian-based television station quoted him as saying.
If the Syrian Kurds leave the camp where the prisoners are, the ISIS militants could escape, Putin said, adding that they did not know where those militants would go.
Putin also promised to mobilize Russian special service resources to counter this threat.
