Mustafa AY - TDO On Monday, Russia's Khmeimim military air base confronted with 2 consecutive projectile attacks. Concerning the attacks, Russia's Ministry of Defense released a statement that they successfully repelled the missile attacks through their air defense systems intercepting total number of 36 projectiles on air. In the attacks, there were no casualty and damage on either military equipment or military base unfolded, continues the statement.
Russian officials claimed that the projectile assaults were operated from de-escalation zone of Idlib by the terrorist organisation called " Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" (formerly known as al-Nusra). According to Maj. General Viktor Kupchishin, head of Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, terrorists allegedly benefitted from drones for setting target. In response to the attacks, Russian aircraft launched counter-strike over Idlib to deter them from attempting to repeat the attacks.
