İrem GÖL -TDO- Days after the armed conflict between India and China, Pakistani authorities claimed that the Indian border forces targeted some villages in the valley of Kashmir and at least four Pakistani civilians were killed. In a statement published on June 18, the Pakistani military said across the Line of Control, the de facto frontier that delimits the Indian and Pakistani administration in Kashmir, Indian troops fired at army posts and civilians with heavy weapons at night.
According to the statement, three people were killed in the Nakyal region where they were standing together and they were all dead as a result of a single shell. The fourth person died after a shell hit her home in Bagshar area.
Pakistan’s military published a brief statement on Twitter saying: “Indian Army troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violations in Nakyal and Bagshar Sectors along Line of Control targeting civilian population.”
