News Center -TDO- An event was held in the embassy garden due to "September 6 Pakistan Defence Day", hosted by Pakistan's Ambassador to Ankara, Mohammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi.
The event was attended by embassy staff and invited guests.
The event began with a reading of speeches by Pakistani president Arif Alvi and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on September 6, Pakistan Defence Day, and continued with the Koran recited for Pakistani martyrs.
In his speech at the celebration after the singing of the Pakistani national anthem, Ambassador Qazi stressed the importance of September 6 in the history of Pakistan and said: "Today is the day when we express our gratitude to our martyrs and veterans."
Noting that Pakistan has faced years of terrorism and low-intensity conflict, Ambassador Qazi continued his speech as follows:
"Through the efforts of our Nation, Army and law enforcement, we have managed to resist all these difficulties and become a strong state. Today, Pakistan is on its way to becoming a developed welfare state and has a strong Integrated Defence Force. As a nation, we are committed to making Pakistan a democratic welfare state in which everyone lives in peace."
A banner reading ‘Respect for the martyrs of Pakistan’ was displayed on the garden wall of the embassy, with pictures of Pakistani martyred soldiers on it.
