Selin ATAY-TDO- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli military was ready for all scenarios regarding the tensions with Hezbollah forces on the Lebanese border, and warned Hezbollah and Iran against “testing” Israel.
Visiting an Israel Defense Forces command post near the northern border, Netanyahu met Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi and other top commanders and received a security briefing, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
“All that is happening now is the result of an attempt to establish a military foothold in our area by Iran and its satellites in Lebanon,” Prime Minister Netanyahu said, according to PM’s Office.
Netanyahu accused Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah of serving Iranian interests at the expense of the Lebanese state.
“I don’t suggest anyone test the Israel Defense Forces or Israel. We are determined to defend ourselves,” Prime Minister added.
Netanyahu indicated that Israel would continue its bombing campaign in Syria meant to thwart Iran and said Israel was “prepared for any scenario.”
While the Israeli military remains on alert, there has been silence on the Israel-Lebanon border since yesterday's events at the border.
