Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The US National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) says the mission of the new vehicle to be sent to Mars is to find remains of life from ancient times. The mission will also shed light on other projects to Mars in the future, NASA officials said.
NASA recently introduced the space shuttle that will be sent to Mars in July 2020. The space shuttle, named 'Mars 2020', is about the size of a car and has a small nuclear reactor. The vehicle, which will collect stone and soil samples from the surface of Mars, also houses a special device for excavating and smashing rocks.
With 23 different cameras, Mars 2020 will include two microphones to record the sound of the winds on the Red Planet, and a laser-assisted system for chemical testing.
Introduced to members of the media in a special sterile room at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Los Angeles, the vehicle was also successful in its completed test drives.
