Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Aleksandros Diakopoulos, who served as National Security Adviser to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, resigned over statements that Turkey's Oruç Reis seismic survey ship was conducting research on the Greek continental shelf and marking the region. Diakopoulos announced his resignation in a written statement.
Diakopoulos said in a statement that his remarks about the seismic research vessel Oruç Reis, which is operating in the Eastern Mediterranean, caused the disturbance, but in fact he had no intention of doing so. Diakopoulos claimed responsibility and resigned.
Greek state agency ANA announced that Diakopoulos ' resignation had been accepted by Prime Minister Mitsotakis.
