LUKASHENKO: IF BELARUS COLLAPSES TODAY, THEN RUSSIA WILL COLLAPSE TOO

Selin ATAY-TDO- Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, who said that protests against the election results were coordinated through social media, claimed that Russia could not cope with this method.

In an interview with journalists representing some Russian media, Lukashenko discussed the political situation in the country after the protests that aroused from presidential election.

The Belarusian President said protests against the election results were coordinated through Telegram, a social media app, and said that  "If Belarus collapses today, then Russia will collapse."

Lukashenko said he had consulted with more than one head of state about this situation, and warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that he could not handle with this method.

"How do you resist Telegram channels? Do you have the ability to block these channels? No one can block these channels, not even the one who created this network.” Lukashenko said in his interview.

Lukashenko argued that some channels in the Telegram app run the protest organization. In fact, he said that the United States designed this method and is now succesfully implementing it in Belarus. In this case, Lukashenko said cutting off the internet would not help, arguing that these channels managed from Poland could still not be closed.

Lukashenko, who claimed that there will be some political events in Russia soon, said: "Do you know what opinion we have reached with the Russian institutions and administration? If Belarus collapses today, then Russia will collapse."
