LIBYA ANNOUNCES ENTRY INTO FORCE OF AGREEMENTS SIGNED WITH TURKEY

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The national reconciliation government in Libya (UMH) announced the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding on security and Military Cooperation signed with Turkey and the Memorandum of Understanding on the limitation of maritime jurisdictions.

According to reports based on information obtained from people close to the UMH Ministry of Justice, the decision of the UMH Presidential Council on these memorandum was asked by the relevant units to take effect from the date of ratification of the agreement.

It also stated that the decisions taken in the country were published in a single volume, not individually, and that the decision would be published in the Official Gazette at the beginning of 2020.

On 5 December, the Presidential Council approved a memorandum of Understanding on security and military co-operation and a memorandum on the limitation of maritime jurisdictions.

Turkey and the UMH signed a memorandum of Understanding on security and military co-operation on 27 November and a memorandum of Understanding on the limitation of maritime jurisdictions aimed at the protection of the two countries ' rights under international law.
