News Center-TDO-Japan’s Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima hosted a reception at the Embassy residence in honor of Crown Prince Naruhito, the new emperor of Japan.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Selim Kıran, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Levent Gök, Chairman of Saadet Party Temel Karamollaoğlu, former Minister of Health and Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ, ambassadors and many other guests attended to the reception.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Akio Miyajima stated that the Heisei period ended in Japan and the Rewia period began. Mr. Ambassador said, "Rewia means beautiful harmony. During this period, I sincerely wish that people would bring their hearts and minds together in a beautiful way and continue the long years of peace and prosperity."
Japan’s Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima also stated, "Her Majesty the Empress of the Emperor Akihito’s period, wanted me to express my sincere gratitude to the Turkish people for their support after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. We will strengthen the partnership between the two countries and our partnership in the political, economic and cultural fields. I would like to repeat my determination to deepen it.”
At the opening of the reception, Japanese koto artist Atsuko Suetomi performed the National Anthem of Japan and then read the Turkish National Anthem was singed.
At the end of the reception, guests wrote messages to the greeting book.
