ITALY'S POLITICAL CRISIS OFFICIALLY COMES TO END




Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The new government, led by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in Italy, received a vote of confidence as a result of a vote in the upper house of parliament. Following the new government's vote of confidence, Italy's long-standing political crisis has officially been overcome.

The coalition government, formed last week under the leadership of Conte, consisting of the 5 Star Movement (M5S), the center-left Democratic Party (PD) and the left-wing Party of Freedoms and Equals (LEU), also received a vote of confidence from the lower house of the House of Representatives.

The 321-seat Senate General Assembly voted 307 senators. The second Conte Government received 169 votes in favor of 133 votes and received a vote of confidence from the upper house of parliament. In the voting, 5 senators abstained.

As it is known, in Italy, a government must get the vote of confidence from the lower and upper wings of the parliament in order to take office.
