ISRAEL HOSTS A LGBTI+ EVENT

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- In Tel Aviv, which hosts the Middle East's largest Honor March, participants met in Rabin Square.

Thousands of people attended smaller-scale LGBTI+ events on Sunday after large organizations were canceled due to coronavirus restrictions in Israel. Several local artists performed, including the trans song Dana International, which won the Eurovision Song Contest.

Extensive security measures were put in place at the event in Jerusalem. The march began in 2015 with a homage to the memory of Shira Banki, who was stabbed to death by an extremely religious Jew, and all the victims of homophobia.

318 people died due to Coronavirus outbreak in Israel, the total number of cases is known to exceed 23 thousand. In the country, where there are hundreds of new cases every day, police have imposed restrictions on participation in organizations.
