Mustafa AY – TDO – 18.11.2018 On Saturday, nationwide rallies by over 280,000 in France was organized to demonstrate against soaring fuel prices, which is led by President Macron’s decision on levying additional taxes on oil. In France’s most famous boulevard ‘Champs Elysee’, dozens of protesters staged a protest march, which inevitably mobilized security forces. So as to disperse demonstrators, Paris police took violent action by firing tear gases and using excessive force. In the row between police and demonstrators, over 100 reportedly got injured. Independent from the clash, one protestor lost his life because of traffic accident.
