IN ALBANIA, PROTESTERS DEMANDED THE PRIME MINISTER'S RESIGNATION




Serhat TUNAR -TDO -Protestors gathered in front of the parliament building in Albania demanded early elections. The protestors burned pictures of Prime Minister Edi Rama and threw fireworks towards the parliament building.

The main opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, argued that Prime Minister Edi Rama should resign after allegations of corruption and fraud involving elections.

Opposition party parliamentarians had left the parliamentary chairs after the investigation opened against Prime Minister Edi Rama. Opposition parliamentarians alleged that the general elections held in 2017 were unlawful. 

Refusing the claims, Prime Minister Rama stated in his speech that if the opposition parliamentarians want to prove their strengths, they should prove it in the next local elections that will be held in June 2019.
