Serhat TUNAR -TDO- General Khalifa Hafter, who holds control of eastern Libya, said Turkey and Russia had rejected his call for a ceasefire.

Hafter's spokesman, Ahmed Mismari, said operations against the United Nations-recognized government of National Reconciliation would continue.

Khalifa Hafter, backed by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France and Russia, said the political process or the restoration of stability could not be achieved without the elimination of terrorist groups, disarming and disbanding the militia groups that control Tripoli.

Hafter said he welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin's ceasefire initiative, adding that armed troops affiliated with him would continue the war against terrorist groups.
