Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Military forces under General Khalifa Hafter, who controls eastern Libya, accepted Turkey and Russia's call for a joint ceasefire.
Ahmad al-Mismari, a spokesman for Hafter's forces, said in a message posted on his official social media account that they accepted the call for a ceasefire for their operations in western Libya, although they would respond violently if the opposing side violated the ceasefire.
Turkish Saturday January 12th, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called for an unconditional ceasefire in Libya. Hafter had rejected a ceasefire call made by Turkey and Russia two days earlier.
The Presidential Council of the Libyan national reconciliation government (UMH) announced that Turkey and Russia welcomed the call for a ceasefire.
