İrem GÖL -TDO- The authorities in Greece announced that they are extending the lockdowns measures imposed since March on refugee camps to May 21. The decision came six days after the first easing of the general coronavirus measures in the country. The ministry did not provide information on why the camp lockdown was being extended.
In Greece, 2710 cases of coronavirus and 151 deaths have been recorded. Since Monday, some shops and final year students are going back to class. However, while the authorities are extending the lockdowns in the refugee camps, there are no reported coronavirus cases in the Aegean island camps. On the mainland, two camps and a hotel accommodating asylum seekers were locked down in April after positive coronavirus tests.
