News Center -TDO-Hosted by Japan's Ambassador to Turkey Akio Miyajima, Huseyin Velioglu, former president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Association, was awarded the "Golden Lights, Rising Sun order and neck tie" for his efforts for Turkey-Japan Friendship.
Altug Atalay, General Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, members of the Jica Association, bureaucrats, Huseyin Velioglu's family and many guests attended the invitation held at the embassy residence.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Miyajima stated that Velioglu was honored with "Golden Lights, Rising Sun insignia and neckline" as a tribute to Japan's important contributions to the Turkish economy through international cooperation and its efforts to build the foundation of the two countries' friendship.
Miyajima, in Japan JICA's training program in 1986 after joining the organized Velioglu aquaculture in Turkey, agricultural production and development as general manager of JICA took part in the project and cultivating successes in the development of production techniques of the Black Sea turbot, which is difficult told.
Miyajima, who stated that Velioglu, as the president of the Jica Association, had contributed to the advancement of Japan-Turkey relations in technical and cultural terms, congratulated Velioglu and his family.
Miyajima said of his speech, "Japan and Turkey are two states of one heart,"he ended with his words.
After ambassador Miyajima's speech, Velioglu was presented with a state Medal of Honor.
Velioglu expressed his great honor for the state medal awarded to him and thanked Japan, Japan's Ambassador to Ankara, Miyajima, his colleagues, family and those who attended the invitation.
After attending the training of JICA's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and during his retirement, Velioglu explained that the two countries tried to contribute to cooperation in the field of fisheries, agriculture and culture cooperation, and his speech was "Long Live The Friendship of Turkish Japanese, Long Live The Brotherhood of Crescent and sun," he finished with his words.
