Serhat TUNAR -TDO- In France, a proposal to ban the destruction of products other than food, such as clothing, electronic goods, hygiene and care supplies, was approved by Parliament and then passed in the Senate.

The law, a first in the world, was raised during the Christmas celebrations of 2018 when it was revealed that internet shopping site Amazon had destroyed millions of new products that had not been sold. After that, Brune Poirson, an ecologist in France, announced that they would draft a law to prevent such waste.

Under the new anti-waste law, non-food products that are not sold will be required by law to be given to associations and foundations or recycled.

The Environmental Law in question will be implemented in products with the recycling emblem starting from 2022 and in other products by the end of 2023. For example, a ban on plastic bottles, which has been much discussed in the country, will start from 2023.
