"Now is the time for China to ask the United States not to interfere in China's internal affairs," China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
The minister’s remarks came after US tech company Microsoft said on Thursday that it had detected cyberattacks from China, Russia and Iran that were designed to interfere in the US upcoming presidential election.
While US-China relations are at their lowest point in decades in regards to trade, technology, revocation of journalists' visas and the closure of consulates, the China-Russia relations empowered by the two countries collaborations in various area.
Emphasizing that the communication between the presidents increased dramatically, Wang said the strategic partnership between China and Russia had "strong resilience" and was an "important stabilizing force" given the global volatility created by the coronavirus pandemic.
Wang also mentioned about the successful cooperative projects aimed to brought coronavirus under control and help cross-border movement of people.
By making reference to the US, "We oppose the irresponsible actions of ignoring the coronavirus while spreading a 'political virus', and aim to create a clean political and public opinion environment for global joint efforts against the virus, Wang Yi said.
He also emphasized the strong cooperation between China and Russia against “political virus”.
