Stating that the Central Bank of Iraq imposed restrictions on the activities of the branches of the Iranian National Bank in Najaf, Baghdad and Basra as a result of US pressure, Eminzari resolved that this situation, which he described as "unlawful", and the protection of non-oil exports of $ 3.4 billion with this country.
Eminzari emphasized that they are one of the important branches of the Iranian Central Bank in the foreign exchange market and contributed as much as 25 banks operating in this field alone.
Beside the economics relations, the diplomatic relations between Iran and Iraq has been deteriorated. Iraq has suspended activities in its consulate in the Iranian city of Mashhad after two diplomats were assaulted, according to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. Mashhad deputy governor Hassan Jafari, for his part, described the incident as a “misunderstanding”.
