İrem GÖL -TDO- Boris Johnson is the first head of government to publicly reveal they have tested positive for the coronavirus. Johnson, Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel are now running the countries while in self-isolation. He posted a video on Friday morning on Twitter, saying he has a temperature and a persistent cough. He said: “I am working from home, I am self isolating, and that’s entirely the right thing to do.” After experiencing mild symptoms yesterday, the Prime Minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer. The result of the test was positive. The health secretary, Matt Hancock, confirmed that he had also tested positive shortly after.

According to the Court Circular, the Queen last saw Boris Johnson when he had his weekly audience with her on 11 March. Since then his weekly audience with her has been conducted by telephone. Prince Charles, who last saw his mother in person on 12 March, was tested on Monday and found to have coronavirus. Buckingham Palace has so far declined to comment on whether the Queen, who will be 94 next month, has been tested for Covid-19.
