Serhat TUNAR -TDO- A Russian national, suspected of committing 90 thousand dollars’ worth of bitcoin fraud in New Zealand and identified by police authorities as Alexander Vinnik, has been detained in France.
Police said Alexander Vinnik was also wanted by the United States. The American authorities are demanding that Vinnik be extradited for his crimes.
Alexander Vinnik, who was arrested and detained in Greece in the summer of 2017 at the request of the United States for Bitcoin fraud, claimed during his interrogation in France that he had served as a technical adviser on Bitcoin platforms and had not taken any illegal actions. It was announced that Alexander Vinnik would be sent to the United States after France and then extradited to Russia.
