According to the reports, Alek Sigley, a graduate student in Korean literature, collected documents and photographs of espionage activities while caught in the act of espionage and allegedly confessed to the student was claimed. Alek Sigley, known as the only Australian living in the country, was deported last Thursday.
Alek Sigley, who speaks fluent Korean, started his graduate studies in Korean literature at Kim Il-sung University in Pyongyang in 2018. Sigley, whose family had not heard from him last week, had applied to the Australian Foreign Ministry, claiming that the North Korean government had detained him.
