Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was hospitalized in Russia on suspicion of toxic poisoning, was taken to Germany by plane in a private ambulance. Navalny was taken to Berlin's Charite hospital under intense security after initial examinations on the plane.
Navalny, who was taken to Berlin after Russian doctors gave him approval to travel abroad, said his doctors were in good health. Commenting on Navalny's condition, spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh said: "We are yet to begin the process for his health and there is still much to be done. Fortunately at least the first step has been taken."
Earlier, Russian health authorities had announced that Navalny could not be sent abroad for treatment because his health was unstable.
