Serhat TUNAR -TDO- More than 60 of the jihadists in Syria's Idlib province are German citizens, German media outlets SWR and ARD reported.
German jihadists are moving in with Tahrir Damascus and trying to share propaganda videos and fundraise through Telegram-like practices, according to reports. The News reported that the donations were transferred from Germany to Syria via the electronic currency Bitcoin.
The Federal Police Department said electronic currencies have long been heavily scrutinized in the context of terrorist financing. The statement also said that electronic currencies are at a high risk of being used not only for money laundering but also for terrorism financing.
