News Center -TDO- Kazakhstan Ambassador to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuli and his wife Gulbanu Syrgabayeva hosted a reception at the JW Marriott Hotel in Ankara for the 28th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
The reception was attended by Turkish Grand National Assembly President Mustafa Şentop, the President's Chief Advisor YalçınTopçu, the governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin, the mayor of Ankara Mansur Yavaş, the former Minister of State Kürşad Tüzmen, as well as diplomatic and military mission representatives and many guests.
After the singing of the national anthem of the two countries in his opening speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan stated that after his country proclaimed its independence on 16 December Turkey was the first country to recognize it and noted that "the relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan within the framework of the accelerated strategic partnership is developing in all areas."
Pointing out that the tight dialogue between the leaders of the two countries has contributed greatly to the development of relations, Ambassador Saparbekuli said: "Kazakhstan is always on the side of Turkey and the Turkish people.”
Ambassador Saparbekuli stated “independence is our character, as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk said.”
"The trade volume between Kazakhstan and Turkey is expected to exceed 3 billion dollars by the end of this year," said Ambassador Saparbekuli, recalling that during Kazakhstan Prime Minister Askar Mamin's visit to Turkey last month, several meetings were held in the context of strengthening trade and investment between the two countries,"he shared his knowledge.
Saparbekuli said: "there is no union without unity. We are two separate states, but we will walk into the future with historic ties, hopefully as one state and one nation.”
Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, in his speech here, expressed pride in being the first country to recognize the independence of Kazakhstan, and said that the relations between the two countries have special importance.
Turkey and Kazakhstan 10 billion dollars between the trade volume targets has been determined by the president of the parliament Şentop pointed out that mutual efforts are being made to realize this goal.
"Kazakhstan's joy is our joy, its grief is our grief. We are very happy to follow Kazakhstan's great moves towards independence, stability and development,"he said.
Recalling that the founding president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was declared "lifetime honorary president of the Turkish Council" at the suggestion of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkish parliament speaker Mustafa Şentop said: "We are closely following the work and activities of Nazarbayev, the pioneering, visionary leader, not only to Kazakhstan but also to the Turkish world, region and the world.1
After the speeches, the speaker of the parliament, Mustafa Şentop, presented the "Turkish World Resurrection Award" given to Nazarbayev by the Turkish world writers and Artists Foundation (TÜRKSAV) to the Kazakh Ambassador Saparbekuli.
The reception ended after refreshments.
