News Center -TDO-Turkish academicians and media members visiting Thailand with the invitation ofKingdom of Thailand Ambassador to Turkey Phantipha Ekarohit, held a seminar on “Turkey’s Role in today’s World: Effects for Thailand and Southeast Asia” at the Prince Songkla University, Faculty of Political Science, Pattani Campus.

Six academics from leading universities Turkey, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bagcı from METU, Prof. Dr. Tanju Tosun and Prof. Dr. Gulgun Erdogan Tosun from Ege University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Merve Seren from Yıldırım Beyazıd University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Esen from Bilkent University and Gülsüm Akbulut Ankara University attended to the seminar.

Prince Songkla University, Vice President of Academic Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Monthila Lilangkriangsak attended the seminar and Chakri Norathip Sewikul, Undersecretary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Ankara also gave a speech at the seminar.

In the first section of the seminar moderated by Prince Songkla University, Vice Dean of Academic Services Dr. Hafız Salae, Prof. Dr. Huseyin Bagcı made a presentation on Turkey's foreign policy and its Asian expansion, Prof. Dr. Tanju Tosun made a presentation on Turkey's domestic politics and foreign policy implications and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Merve Seren made a comprehensive presentation on the Turkey defense industry.

In the second section of the seminar moderated by Prince of Songkla University, Foreign Relations and Network Relations and Turkey Studies Center Expert Dr. Yasmin Sutta, Gulsum Akbulut made a presentation on Turkey’s and Thailand’s economies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Esen made a presentation on Turkey and Thailand's role in international politics and world economy, Prof. Dr. Gulgun Erdogan made a presentation on the importance of the role of media and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) among other areas in bilateral relations.
