USA RENEWED SANCTIONS ON IRAN, BUT TOUGHER

Mustafa AY – TDO – 06.11.2018 On Monday, US Secretary of State and Treasury –Mike Pompeo and Steven Mnuchin- announced the renewal of sanctions on Iran in the press meeting. Pompeo and Mnuchin, in their statements, specified that South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Turkey, Greece and Italy were exempted from sanctions in order to avert possible eruption of oil crisis in those nations.

Right after announcement of sanctions, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani released an official statement for the sanctions. President Rouhani uttered that those 8 nations exemption from sanctions is meaningless. Rouhani finished his talk to press by these words: “If Washington didn’t exempt those 8 nations from sanctions, we would proceed with exporting the oil for sure.”
