US MINISTER OF COMMERCE ROSS PROPOSES TO TAKE CONCRETE STEPS AGAINST “PARASITE” IN TR-ABD TRADE RELATIONS




Selin ATAY-TDO-The Minister Pekcan attend the dinner held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkey, which was also attended by US Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross. In her speech, Pekcan said that they had very productive talks with sector representatives about Turkey's industrial capacity, capabilities and outlook.

Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan stated that the common goal of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Donald Trump is to reach a trade volume of $ 100 billion. She said works on this goal began from April.

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said: "both sides need to put forward concrete data on what they are going to win. Otherwise, the parasite caused by problems arising from other areas behind this will continue to affect relations in the near term and have an effect on trade relations,”

Ross said that he believes economic success can be achieved through transparency, the predictable judicial system, the protection of intellectual property and human rights, and he emphasized that protecting U.S. companies in those circumstances is crucial.
