UNICEF’S STATEMENT FOR LIBYAN YOUTH




Mustafa AY – TDO – 26.09.2018 On Monday, UN Fund for Children released an official statement that ongoing clashes between armed political fractions in Libya’s Tripoli undermines not only the country’s political stability, but also puts many innocent civilians including in hundreds of thousands of children’s lives in immediate danger. UNICEF emphasized the fragility of the current situation by pointing out the cost of last 48-hour clashes suggesting that 1,200 families were displaced owing intensified clashes. UN reiterates the fact that Libya is suffering from poor nutrition and obliterated-infrastructure which leads water shortages and power cut. Thus, UNICEF officials uttered that almost 500,000 Libyan children may face with immediate danger of starvation and death from instified clashed between armed political fractions.
